Stamataki, Iro

Ms. Iro Stamataki is a graduate of the law school of the University of Athens where she obtained her LL.B. (1st class). During her undergraduate studies she held scholarships of the State Scholarships Foundation. She has undertaken postgraduate studies at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where she obtained a LL.M. in Company Law. In the past she has worked with ATE Securities S.A., a member of the ATE Bank Group of Companies. At Kelemenis & Co. she focuses on corporate and commercial law, M&A, civil and commercial litigation and arbitration. Ms. Stamataki has acted for several Greek and foreign companies in arbitration proceedings in Greece, especially in relation to the acquisition of hotel companies and real property disputes in famous tourist destinations, such as Elouda and Agia Pelagia in Crete; for Aegean Power, a major Greek power supplier, over the acquisition of solar energy companies in West and Central Greece, drafting the due diligence reports and the contracts for the acquisition; and for Protergia, formerly Endesa Hellas, a member of Mytilineos Group in relation to an EPC contract for the construction of a 430MW power plant in central Greece, as well as in several dispute resolution cases. Her recent publications include the Greece Chapter in the "Private Equity 2009 Volume 2: Venture Capital", the article on "Financing a photovoltaic project in Greece" (with Dr. Yannis Kelemenis) published in "Project Finance Yearbook 2009/10" and the Greece Chapter in "PLC Cross-border Arbitration Handbook 2010/2011". She is fluent in English, German and French.
