off series of crew claims, including applications for injunction
measures, commenced against the owners of M/Y Insignia,
a 57-metre mega yacht that has been refitted in Piraeus.
The total value of claims amounted to €1m.
Has
acted for Dubai-based retailer Kamal Osman Jamjoom Est.
(KOJ) to advise on all employment matters relating to the
establishment of KOJ’s business operations in Greece.
KOJ owns the Mikyajy make-up and accessories brand, and
the Nayomi lingerie brand, as well as holding franchises
for The Body Shop in the Western region of Saudi Arabia
and Early Learning Centre across the GCC. The group is one
of the leading retailers throughout the Middle East region
and already has around 260 stores in operation. Kelemenis
& Co. has advised on all regulatory employment matters
including obligatory provisions of Greek law and has advised
on modelling employment contracts and relationships in line
with KOJ’s operational objectives.
Acted
for Champion Europe SpA, the multinational sportswear manufacturer,
on setting up its Greek branch and observing all labor law
requirements in the acquisition by the branch of another
business with its staff.
Acted
for UK holding company Stelow Ltd and its Greek subsidiary
Youtravel.com on venture capital deal with Barclays Ventures
including. This has included drafting all model employment
contracts used by the Greek company and observing all collective
labour arrangements applicable to employees in the travel
industry.
Has
been retained to advise The Coca Cola Company on health
and safety regulations as set out in Greek law. In particular,
the firm has been asked to review rules that apply to beverage
manufacturing, distribution and warehouse facilities while
taking on board fire control and fire protection measures
and all applicable requirements for machine guarding, fall
protection, and safety mechanisms and practices.
Has
advised UK company Yourholidays.com on the on the drafting
of the employment agreements of its Greek subsidiary and
of the subsidiary’s internal employment regulations.
Has
advised several corporates on Greek law provisions about
overtime work and payment; reporting and notification requirements;
collective redundancies; and discrimination issues.
Has
defended on behalf of several corporates numerous claims
of dismissed CEOs and executives of all kinds.
