The increasing complexity and interaction of EU and national
law has substantially increased our workload in this area.
Our work focuses mainly on two areas: competition and regulatory
matters. In terms of competition, our focus is placed on
utilities, mergers, joint ventures, and cross-border trade
including the application of articles 81 and 82 of the EU
Treaty. In dealing with competition rules, we keep fully
abreast of any legislative initiatives by EU secondary legislation
and of any transpositions into national Greek law.
Regarding regulatory matters, our work
is mostly related to our activities in Southeast Europe
(e.g. FYR Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Romania, Bosnia) where
we advise local governments on EU regulation and competition,
and on approximation with the EU acquis commumautaire. Our
activities are not merely advisory but focus on statute
drafting and legal approximation, primarily the transposition
into national law of EC directives on various aspects of
common market regulation and liberalization.
